About Us

Pediatric behavioral health is facing a two-sided problem: the number of children and teens struggling with mental health concerns is increasing, while the amount of specialized pediatric providers—particularly those in-network with insurance—is dwindling in the midst of a workforce shortage. While one-in-five children will report a mental, emotional, developmental, or behavioral disorder in a given year in the U.S., only 4% of the country’s clinical psychologists are child and adolescent clinicians, and school psychologists are in short supply. 

Enter Pinwheel Health. Our mission is to ensure every child, teen, and family has access to evidence-based behavioral health care delivered by dedicated, specialized pediatric clinicians. Pinwheel welcomes, trains, and develops new clinicians to enter this critical workforce, while delivering the highest quality care backed by decades of research.

We provide virtual, evidence-based treatment to children and adolescents ages 6-17 coping with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Our clinicians use research to ensure high-quality care that is proven to be effective, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and measure its effectiveness along the way. 

Our clinicians have access to the latest research and evidence-based protocols, training, and clinical supervision as they work toward independent licensure. Pinwheel’s vision is to create sustainable access to trauma-informed, evidence-based behavioral health care for children and families through fostering the next generation of highly trained pediatric clinicians.
